Evolution of Communication Technology reaching a new high day by day | 1G 2G 3G 4G & 5G Technologies

Evolution of Communication Technology

Communication technologies are upgrading day by day, in ancient era people also used to have communicate each other by some different method from the modern era, like,

* They used smoke signal to communicate between each other.

* Due to pigeons have their natural homing ability, they used pigeons to long distance communication.

* Human mail service, where a human himself used to send messages, mails, and newspaper by riding horses, this is called Pony Express. This was the first currier service in the mid 19th century.

Old communication devices used

* Morse Code, although Morse Code an old communication device method still this technology is using globally as a mode of communication.

* Telegraph, this is an old communication device, used from the 1840s until the late 20th century.Telegraphy was the most popular communication method in the late 19th century, Us discontinued telegram services in 2006, and India’s BSNL owned telegram service ended in 2013.

* Radio, Radio is also one of the old communication device, using electromagnetic wave radio was made, and this was just the beginning of our new digital communication.

Mobile radio telephones were introduced in early 20th century for the purpose of military communications.

Half duplex system

This system used a single channel large transmitter on the top of a higher building, this was like a push to talk system due to a single channel only used in that system.

Full duplex communication

This system was similar like Half duplex mode but instead of a single channel transmitter this system used dual channel, one for sending and one for receiving, transmitter that allowed users to tank and listen at the same time.

1G Communication | 1st Generation Communication Technology

This was an advance telecommunication system introduced in 1982 known as AMPS (Advanced Mobile Phone System). Concern about 1G technology was weak security on air interface, there was no roaming. That why ETSI developed.

2G Communication | 2nd Generation Communication Technology

ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) was the beginning of 2G network, ETSI developed 2nd generation cellular telecommunication network and commercially launched in 1991 in Finland based on GSM standard with the data speed of 9.6 kbps.

3G Communication | 3rd Generation Communication Technology

During this time internet was becoming popular day by day so a high speed data connection was

required, in 1999 3G introduced to us, 8PSK modulation Introduced using GPRS infrastructure and this technology was able delivered data at the rate of 500kbps.

An organization was created to development of 3G technology which is ATIS from North America,CCSA from China, ARIB and TTC from Japan, TTA from Korea, this gave birth 3GPP technology which was under the observation of ITU-R(One of the sector of ITU, this organization manages international radio frequency, spectrum and ensure the efficient use of spectrum). 3G can able to serve minimum of 2mbps data rate.

4G Communication | 4th Generation Communication Technology

Then comes 4th Generation Communication system, evolving HSPA serves data rate at 28mbps downlink and 11mbps uplink, that's how LTE (Long Term Evaluation) technology developed. Initial goal of this technology was communication mobility and globally connectivity with high data speed rate, this technology is not bounded in voice and sms only, the modified architecture was included with radio part and non radio part. In June 2005 this was released after several refining in this technology.

5G Communication | 5th Generation Communication Technology

Known as fifth-generation wireless, 5G is the latest iteration of cellular technology. It aims at greatly increasing the speed and responsiveness of wireless networks. Using bands known as millimeter waves (mm waves), 5G operates in a very unique way, using higher radio frequencies that are less cluttered. 5G technology carry more information at a much faster rate. However, due to its highly costly equipment, it has not fully reached the public at large. You may be wondering what is so special about this technology. Now days 5G become a hot topic, everyone wants to know about this technology, So here are three facts about 5G technology.

5G is faster than previous technologies

One of the very first thing that catches one’s attention when it comes to 5G, is the speed of the network. Combining telecommunications and computing, 5G network has an evident advantage over the other networks. Thanks to 5G, things that one would spend hours downloading, we can now do it in a twinkle of the eye. This opens up a wealth of potential applications and information across various industries due to improved operational efficiency. In fact, 5G is a dynamic technology that will offer a larger channel for traffic. The technology will therefore boast a greater capacity than previous network technologies.

5G is the new revolution

5G seeks to transform a wide range of our everyday aspects, whether it is business, habits or culture. While the technology will offer performance increases for mobile technology, there are a number of other applications that it looks to impact. First, the technology may totally change the configuration of companies and have an impact on how services or products are provided. Plus, 5G technology is faster and more dynamic than the others, as mentioned above. As a result, it is expected to facilitate the use and development of domains such as artificial intelligence, robotics and digital services!

5G might take time to reach the world

The implementation of the new network is not as easy as expected. While some countries are already in it, others are still out the race. And of course, big powers as the United States and China are the leaders. However, some great changes are made in order to help countries such as South Korea join the race too! Also, the European Action Plan has been elaborated, which must help spread the technology across the whole continent. As a matter of fact, 5G technology must be spread everywhere in Europe by 2025.

Recap

Even if the development of 5G network will be a long and tremendous process, it will be worth it. The technology will actually change and increase every domain of our lives. Therefore, both the financial means and time invested in implementing 5Gwill not be in vain. They will rather generate more benefits in the upcoming future!
